We recently completed a basic dog obedience @ the number 1 training center in Green Bay, Wi. On the way home we stopped @ a local spring sport show to see if what types of training tools we could pick up for our 8 month old Vizsla, Marley. Although she is our household pet her heritage is hunting. With that in mind we strolled through the isles seeking information on how best to approach hunting with our Marley. (We named her before the movie came out). One of the vendors suggested we go speak with Bill Matney the "HOW TO TALK DOG" guy. We told BIll that we just came from our last Doggy Obedience class and were completely satisfied with the results. Marley was the star pupil. Whenever the instructor needed a pet for a new task Marley was the only dog she choose. Bill asked if there were other area's of concern with Marley's behavoir. Well I said, being a Vizsla we had accepted the fact that she would always be very high spirited and hard to control in a crowd or outside. At that point Bill asked if he could meet Marley. Out to the car we went. Bill spent about three to 5 minutes with her and then turned her over to me and said let's go back to the show. Well our little Marley had never been subjected to so many people at one time and I followed Bill back to show entrance. On the way to the auditorium we stopped , Marley sat instantly and Bill Stopped a small group of 12-13 year old kids. I had no idea was was going to happen next. He instructed these 4 boys to start jumping up & down and shouting, (not singing)there ABC's. The boys started going crazy and our Marley just sat and watched. Unbelievable!!!!! It doesn't end here. We continued on into the show where there had to be a thousand people walking around. Mind you, prior to the last 10 minutes Marley could not walk by 1 person without tearing the leash out of my hand. Now we are walking her through this building, loose lead in hand and she is fine. Bill sat with her for 2 hours while people, (mostly kids) met Marley. Bill even had us up on the stage for his seminar and Marley was once again a star pupil. This was an incredible experience for me, my wife, and most importantly our dog. For those of you that think your dog is special and not trainable, think again. Bill Matney, the "HOW TO TALK DOG" guy has changed our lives. He did something in 15 minutes that we couldn't accomplish in 6 weeks of obedience classes. We now have his book, DVD's and will follow his simple methods FOREVER.. Thanks Bill, Steve, Mary & Marley
